About Erika

My name is Erika Westerlind. I am currently in the process of getting certified through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) to be an Antepartum and Labor Doula. The training for this certification includes a required reading list with a miniumum of (5) pregnancy and childbirth books, (3) childbirth videos, books, (1) research paper, multiple essays and an exam. It also requires that I attend 3 births and receive evaluations from each Mother, Dr./Mid-Wife and Labor & Delivery Nurse.

I am happily married and the biological mother of loving twin teenage boys as well as the proud mother of a stepson and stepdaughter. My passion for becoming a doula was inspired by my own birth experience as well as by attending the birth of my beautiful niece.

You'll get a chance to know me better by reading my own personal birth story. Hopefully, you will feel comfortable with contacting me to discuss how my doula services can enhance your birth experience by making it an informed, empowered and positive one.
